january 2009

01/09 started off with a bang. i ran a satisfying half-pr in disney and survived a 4-hour marathon the next day. (i still recommend the goofy, the entire weekend was a blast!) after 5.5 months of training for the goofy challenge, i gave myself a full week off and then eased back into running for the last two weeks of january. my mileage is a lot lower than i'd like, but i did technically take 2 weeks off from running when you add up all the rest & race recovery days.

total mileage: 120.85
time spent running: 18:06:09
days off: 14 (all scheduled rest days)
abs/yoga: 11 ab workouts/5 yoga sessions (a world record in both categories)
avg resting hr: 49.73
avg max hr: 181.13

  4. I had a friend who ran the Disney 1/2 then full. He was done about 1/2 way into the full. Sounds like fun, but grueling. Here's to February being even better than January. Keep up the great work.

  10. Wait! How did you outdistance me this month? I got 114 for the month. Oh yeah...you ran a marathon the day after the half marathon and I went on roller coasters. That explains it.

  11. Hey Lindsay, Grreat month. what's ur next goal race?
i went back & read ur posts labeled "800s" .I've heard that they can predict marathon time, but not sure i follow how it works? Looks like you were doing 8x 800 at 3:15 and then u PR'd. I also see u hit 2x16 + one 20 on the way to PR. My plan is 1x: 16,18,20.
Any advice for me? I want to run 3:45 come May. feel free2email dean_delaware_aflac *at* Yahoo.
