surprise! it snowed again last night/this morning. (hoo.ray.) it was very windy, so i think any pre-treatment attempts by the road crews were pretty much blown away and the roads were not in great shape this morning. i am fairly certain of this because i careened off the side of the road on the way to work this morning. i swiveled and swerved and ended up spinning a 180 off the right-side of the road, driver's side first. thank goodness there weren't any on-coming cars at the time, as i would have created quite the pile up. so far there doesn't seem to be anything leaking from underneath the car and hopefully it stays that way. i'd prefer not to fix a cracked oil pan or anything right now. i swear i wasn't speeding - it's hard to anyway in the area where i went off-roading.
oh and those new tires? as i got close to work i noticed i was having to steer to the right to keep the car going straight... *you have to be kidding me* i thought. sure enough, when i got to work, the front driver's side tire was going flat again! $&#$)@% the guys at work put some air in and it seems to be holding, so i think it just lost some air in all the jostling/off-roading.

Speaking of tank tops and shorts...your weather is so foreign to me! I was watching a show on the weather channel about driving with black ice on the road. Excuse me, what's black ICE? It sounds like the witch's friend! Then I watched how to drive in the snow and wind, S-c-a-r-y! You are even tougher than I'd imagined. Be careful!
ReplyDeleteYou made me laugh tonight. I'm with you on "hoo.ray!" more snow. It snowed again here too, and when I went running this afternoon as opposed to my usual darkened, nightly runnings, I felt literally blinded while running it was so bright.
ReplyDeleteOff-roading eh?! That HAD to have shaken you up a bit. When I read your post title about "feeling flat", I thought you were referring to running. Good to know it was just the tires...I mean...well, you know what I mean. Of course I don't want your tires to be flat. That is annoying.
Let's see six more weeks till April? We'll count down together.
Maybe we can ride horses in Belize?
ReplyDeleteJust saying....
You guys are getting all the snow. Send it my way, I love to make snowmen and go sledding! Plus, I never have to go driving in it, I take the train!
ReplyDeleteLindsay,
ReplyDeleteIt snowed at the beach---they cancelled a marathon--I am pretty sure the world is coming to an end. If I hear one more time snow is pretty I may puke. BE CAREFUL there JR ;)
okay so one of my MAJOR fears is car trouble. as in "on the road" car trouble. yes i have AAA but i'm still so afraid. can i please never ever get a flat????? **knock on wood**
ReplyDeletei'm done with snow and winter. done.
I can imagine you are about as over the cold weather (or probably more so) than I am right now! Thank goodness no serious damage to the car... There is the bright side, right?
ReplyDeleteomg. You poor thing! You're just having a bad... month! That's absolutely crazy. So glad you're okay. And, keeping my fingers crossed for your tires.
ReplyDeleteYikes. Scary. Be safe out there.
ReplyDeleteWow, sorry to hear about the bad luck with the car!! Hope everything is alright with the ride after that spin out!
ReplyDeleteGirl, you better be careful out there on the road, especially this time of year. As far as the tire, I am guessing that you probably have a small nail or something in it causing the leak. Same thing happened to me a month ago. BE ALERT, ARRIVE UNHURT!, ^with the bee pic. lol
ReplyDeleteOK, tires leaking air don't magically stop leaking air! Go have it fixed, will you? Otherwise you'll get a flat at the worst possible time or place. Just think, the garage that repairs your tire just may happen to have a vending machine with M+M's in it..OK, JK. But seriously, get the leaky tire repaired. P.S. I hate Meg-she doesn't know what black ice is; and doesn't have to drive in the snow..
ReplyDeleteI remember one winter doing a 360 and ending up facing on coming traffic! Sweeeeeeet is all that came to my mind, but then again, I was born here and never lived without snow, black ice, freezing rain, freezing fog, etc.....It's just nature to me!
ReplyDeleteSorry for your car issues, let's hope this is the last of 'em.
I could always throw in the mix that if you had a kb, you wouldn't have to run in the snow as much......just saying!!! :)
I am so glad you are okay. That happened to me once too (but I was going too fast)... and it was so scary. Thankfully, no cars were coming either, but I had to pull over to catch my breath.
ReplyDeleteThanks for entering my blog giveaway. Be sure to check back on Wednesday to see the winner - it could be you.
This snow, wind, cold, winter sh*t is really getting on my nerves! Glad you made it out of the car situation unscathed! I love Meg's comment about the black ice!!
ReplyDeleteYou are having a rough day! Glad everything is ok. Hopefully, things will start to get warmer real soon.
ReplyDeleteHow are you doing with staying M&M free?
The only time I like snow is when I don't have to go anywhere. I have had my share of snow-related incidents....I feel your pain!
ReplyDeleteKentucky strikes again!
ReplyDeleteBut for reals, I'm glad you're ok because seriously, who the heck else is going to mock me relentlessly about schmoopy?
So what's your second first name? lindsay bobby?
ReplyDeleteUgh! Sorry to hear about your little mid-adventure. That is scary. So glad you are OK! Spring can't come soon enough.
ReplyDeleteIt is snowing here as I write this. Again. For the 4th time in 2 weeks! Spring now!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are okay!
Gah, SO not a good way to start your day! I'm glad you're okay with no serious damage. ENOUGH WITH THE SNOW ALREADY!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're OK! Those crazy car experiences leave me shaking for 30 mins! And that is why I no longer live where there is ice.
ReplyDeleteWow, be careful out there! You guys are getting all of our winter weather...its in the 50s and might reach 60 degrees this week in the Pacific Northwest! Maybe send a little snow our way?? We havent had any this year!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I tagged you in an award. I believe you might have already tagged, but I wanted to send some sunshine your way!! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you are safe and sound after your spinning. I hate the snow. Isn't it time for spring yet?
ReplyDeleteYou either need to move away from Kentucky or find a marathon in Kentucky whose but you can kick.
ReplyDeleteIt's been the snowiest Winter in years...temps staying below norm...when will we ever get outta this!!!! Glad you are okay after the spin out...
ReplyDeleteummm. i think you need to have that tire fixed. air doesn't just come out. you probably have a nail or something in it...
ReplyDeleteand more snow. goody. surely, you haven't had enough yet...
so glad you are okay... that's just scary
ReplyDeleteYikes! Mother Nature is really messing with you! SO glad you're ok though... but still. Scary.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are ok. Yikes, what a winter you're having! I hope that the groundhog was wrong and that spring is just around the corner.
ReplyDeleteMan, the only thing I hate worse than driving in bad conditions is car problems. I'm glad you're OK. I once lost control of my car when a rear tire blew out at 65+mph and nearly sent me across the median into oncoming traffic. I'll never forget it.
ReplyDeleteLindsay, so sorry to only be reading about this now. I've skidded in the bad weather (luckily not done a 180 yet) so I know how scary that must have been for you. So glad you're alright, cars or no cars coming in the other direction.
ReplyDeleteI've taken to driving in second gear some days even!
