the cows and the bees: giveaway!

unless you were born yesterday, you know i have two addictions - m&m's (notable breakdowns here and here) and gu chomps (here). well now i've discovered a liquid crack - honeymilk.

i first learned about honeymilk after they requested to share my "no white at night" post on their blog. they sent me a sample pack out of the goodness of their hearts and i quickly laid claim on "my share" - aka josh gets 5 bottles and i get 7.

nutritional facts
i'm sure you have all found a new health/workout/recovery product, only for it to have 900 calories, or 3800g of sugar. this is not the case with honeymilk. i was pleasantly surprised to flip the bottle around and see reasonable nutritional facts and fairly common ingredients.

the calories in honeymilk are comparable to a serving of regular milk. it's a bit higher than almond and soy milk, but way higher in protein in comparison to all three (26g in honeymilk vs. 1-7g in other milks). as someone who is allergic to most sources of protein, it's nice to have a non-powdered option.

flavors (click for nutritional facts)
honey - lightly sweet. forget chocolate syrup, i'm stirring honey in my milk from now on.
vanilla - very sweet, like a melted vanilla bean milkshake. i chugged it the first time i tried it (couldn't help it); it's also josh's favorite.
acai pom - a touch of fruityness. acai pom and honey are the less-sweet ones in my opinion, for those of you who don't have 32 sweet-teeth like me.
coffee light - this one didn't last long, it tastes just like an iced-coffee or frappuccino.
chocolate light - delicious, of course. i used one for a chocolate-banana smoothie and it was just like a milkshake, except with nutritional value. doesn't have that chalky taste like muscle milk.

win it
honeymilk has so graciously offered up a case of product to one lucky reader!

to enter the one-case (12 bottles) giveaway:
  • become a fan of honeymilk on facebook and write "i'm chasing the kenyans" on their wall (and let me know)
  • for an extra entry - leave a comment below about which flavor you want
  • for a secret entry - send your friends here! they'll need to refer back to you (duh). you'll get even more extra credit if they use the coupon code below to purchase product...

but wait, there's more!
purchase any case of honeymilk from their online store at 50% off with code "KENYANS" for a chance to win a three-month supply! it's like a groupon for ctk readers, except you already qualify. shipping is always free.

not only do you get a great deal, but each purchase enters you for a chance to win three-months worth of honeymilk (10 cases!). you can make more than one purchase to get multiple entries. if you don't have room in your fridge, feel free to have them shipped to me.

the fine print: both giveaways end 11/17. must be a resident of the unidastazovamerikaliqua (aka usa) to win because it's illegal to ship milk across the border/internationally (sorry!).

disclaimer: honeymilk sent me a sample pack of product after i shared my writing skillz on their blog. my review was unsolicited and i am not being paid or perk'd from expressing my enjoyment of honeymilk. the giveaway goodies are sponsored by the gracious generosity of honeymilk.

  1. I just got a sample of the honeymilk in my marathon shwag bag. I haven't tried it yet and am sort of skeptical. I'll have to trust your judgment though and give it a whirl.

  2. just the name makes it sound good... I am with you on the calorie thing. I pick up products all the time that look intriguing only to have label shock over the calories. I might be with Josh on this one, the vanilla bean sounds pretty darn good!

  9. LOL, what about being lactose intolerant and allergic to bees?

  10. You don't have to enter me in the contest, since my dietary choices would forbid this product. But, it's been a long time since i commented on one of your posts, even though I stalk your blog pretty much every day. So, just wanted to let you know I still read your blog all the time, even though I've been incredibly lazy in the comment department.

  15. This stuff sounds awesome, and I'm fairly certain my husband would love it (he was drinking Muscle Milk but decided he didn't want to anymore because the ingredients were WACK!)... but I'm truthfully a little scared of it because I'm lactose intolerant.

  31. I've posted CTK on the Facebook page, and would like to add my preferred flavor in case I'm lucky enough to win: coffee light, all the way. Like a Frappucino? Seriously? I'll have to pick some up myself if I don't win!

  32. Wow, your liquid crack huh? You and these drugs I tell ya. I will have to check it out, though I have not heard of it before. You can just send me some with out me winning and call it a "Donation" for a cause.....Har har har! Take care Druggie Dork!

  35. Coffee Light sounds very good... especially due to your description.

Oh and the gu chomp addiction? What is that all about? I tried them for the first time on my last long run and getting them out of the packaging was already so frustrating... What am I doing wrong.

  36. RE: I tried the orange flavor and wasn't too crazy about it... very "citrus-y"... I do like the consistency though.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Honey milk just sounds yummy!
I want to give it a try.
Hey, I don't think I ever found out if you put my name on the card for Rick or not...do I owe you money? I sent money to Jillian but I never found out about the arrangement. If you didn't add my name, that's fine, I was a slacker with email/blogging that week(we were getting ready for school break)but if you did put my name down, I want to pay you.
Sorry, it's been crazy here...settling down now.

  38. This milk sounds amazing. On a related note, M&Ms are one of the few quality chocolates available in China.

I hadn't seen the No White at Night post until now. Wow. I'm sending the link to a couple of family members.

  41. I will have to try that stuff out. I like my designer whey, but I don't mind trying something new too. :-) By the way, I am so glad for you that you have so many blog readers now. and you know i am thrilled beyond words that you are coming to stay with me in april.

  42. I tried Honey Milk this AM for the 1st time. Light Choc. Very Good. Better than Muscle Milk Light Choc.

    ReplyDelete
  43. OK, i'm now ctk on the honeymilk FB and i would like coffee light. while it seems right to try honey flavor, i've seen the bee movie a few times and sorta feel guilty. on the contrary, there's no moral dilemma with coffee beans, unless i look for one.
nice giveaway because i, too, am tired of those typical recovery drinks with 3800g of sugar. while I feel recovered, it's mostly because i'm in a sugar-induced coma. totally screws up my schedule.

  44. Done,"I'm chasing the Kenyans... and the Colts!!! Texans back off!"

This special message was broadcasted to the world in honor of two very good things, Colts football and Chasing the Kenyans.

    Have a great evening!
