freaktoberfest

i didn't think i'd actually participate in the beer-related aspect of oktoberfast, but when i saw this coney island - freaktoberfest beer i figured i had to try it out in the name of the blog (oh the sacrifices i make).

only available in sep-oct - hurry and scoop some up!
pours red
(pardon my clutter)
foams pink
so... i'm no beer connoisseur. it tasted like beer. i suppose that's a good thing. i pretty much only bought it because it's red. it was a little pricey at $3.99/bottle but hey, it's only available two months of the year. go here to find a retailer near you.

*i purchased and drank the beer on my own will. coney island provided me no compensation for buying, drinking, or blogging about their beer. the opinion that it tasted like beer is my own.

  2. I don't drink anymore, and when I did I didn't drink beer (I liked red wine) but I have been known in my history to buy something strictly based on the label....hahahahahah

  4. Cool package! $4 each is a little high - but I guess okay if you are only drinking one.

  6. $4 is pricey, but so worth a good beer. I do like beer but I don't indulge too often - ya know, it's not good for my petite waistline. :)

  8. $3.99 a pop, yowch. I am glad it at least tasted like beer. ;-) I enjoyed your review.

That's a scary label for anybody who has one of those clown-phobias...!

  9. I'm so proud of you for taking this very bold step, Lindsay. Your are like the John Glenn of our time.

    Were there any side-effects?

  15. That's a crazy looking bottle. I think I'd buy the beer just for that and let my fiance drink it. He likes beer- I don't.

  16. I love your assessment of this beer. It tastes like beer. Ha, Ha!!

Hey, I watched that cowbell thing for Rick. That was touching and I even teared up a little too. He sounded like a special guy. Oh, and it reminded me of my daughter who somehow got hold of a cowbell last year and loves to ring it for various reasons which has always annoyed me. Ha!

  17. Your reviews are hilarious.
Thank you for mocking the entire institution.
Unless you were serious, in which case, OMG! I would love some $4/bottle beer and I don't even drink.

  19. Certainly looks strange. I'm sure I would have bought it as well even though I don't really drink beer. The label would have sold it for me.
